10 Game Reviews

My life is now complete

For several years now Fugitive Takedown has been my favourite game on Newgrounds, When news first surfaced of a sequel I was overjoyed. I was dubious though. Could you really make a sequel to the game of the century? It would be like writing Harry Potter book 8 or god forbid, another Dune novel. It just wouldn't be as good as my expectations. However this just blew me out of the water. Whilst I was kind of pissed off that the first two cars were slow and boring once I got as many speed powerups as possible I felt it was fine. The next few cars just added to the brilliance. The new maps felt fantastic. It was a lot easier to get Chaos bonuses this game and I think the score reflected that. The new game modes were a great addition. I loved the street race - I felt true terror and fear that the cops would catch me. Playing as Sheriff John Bunnell I felt powerful and mighty as I blasted the punks to hell. The graphics were the same as the last game. This was nice. This game doesn't need some amazingly beautiful graphics to keep me entertained. Just some Sheriff John Bunnell quotes. Thanks so much.

Wow this is like the kindest review EVER! I mean, that first game was never even MY favourite on NG - and i love it like a mother loves her pig-ugly graphically-primitive child.
Anyway am glad you enjoyed this one too Andrew. honestly you've made my day with this review... Im gonna go play it myself, that shit sounds amazing!

Bloody awesome

That was everything I want in a game, learning difficulty was fine a a laptop and even if you did something semi accurately it would work rather than having to do everything properly you could just aim the mouse and roll with it

Toooooo easy but very fun

I got over 965.5 million by day 12. I reached over 100 000 feet and left it there for a while (2 hours) and i am not a hardcore gamer it was just to easy to win by doing nothing but that didn't stop it being fun. It is always enjoyable to play your games and this was no exception.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh

Buggy almost right away. I suddenly ended up in back to stage one with no character

VioletVulpine responds:

Meh.

Odd but cool

Not your average grow-eat-win game.

But it did get slightly repetitive and you couldn't really tell if you could eat any thing and there seemed to be a boundary on how big you could get. I think a good thing to do would be to allow the player to click to eat. This would mean you don't go chasing after a microbe to find the program hasn't initiated a bite.

Still good

HeroInteractive responds:

Thanks for your ideas andre786. We pretty much get the same comment over and over again and your ideas were fresh. We'll definitely keep them in mind for future games (we're not looking into another Microbe Kombat right now but who knows what we'll do in the future).

Improvement

Having played your fist one I would have said that it was one of the games that don't need sequels however this completely owns the first one. Same concept New gameplay. Wow. I seriously had my doubts but you pulled it off really really well. If you can do another similar overhall then I am so for Pandemic 3

Sound

I am not sure if you intended there to be a sound like woosh even if the player didn't shoot either way good game.

Not bad

This isn't a bad game however I think it could be done better in a level by level game as it got hard really quickly. The Asteroid splitting idea worked well but there were perhaps slightly too many levels.

Interesting

it was an interesting game however it became tedious quickly. The music was fairly good but i have a question. What the hell were those green things?

rrx88 responds:

If you check the info, it says that they boost power, and power is the bar up in the left corner. So you don't want to press space when it hit's you because then you'll loose power instead of gaining it.

John Bunnell

I thought it was a good game and a good mockery of Blunnell. We have his show in Australia and it is funny as listning to his voice "That'll teach him to think twice about jay walking again" Ha Ha

British-Nanny responds:

thanks mate, i didn't mean to mock JB though, i genuinely think he's the lyrical master.
search "car vs woman" on youtube to see that quote - its some poor old dear and she gets air
